Written Rationale- Draft 1

I have spent a bit of time trying to do the written rationale but when it came down to it i found it quite difficult.

It needs to be at least 600 words and so far i have got it to nearly 300 and i feel that it is a little bit cheesy in places...

The first draft is below, i will get feedback from everyone in the team meeting and then change anything that people are unhappy with and hopefully get some ideas of parts i can add to it. In the mean time i will also add to my previous research into other companies rationales/mission statements to give me more inspiration and help me finish the rationale for our company.

  1. just a quick note before i forget what i want to say;
    i'd change the queen bit to princess.

    and leave the upload to facebook bit out, makes us sound like we have some sort of business connection with them.. not what we want! :) im also not sure about using disks in the workflow, i was going to look into FTP.
    Also you should include something about retouching and post-production services (ie they can view the photos after thier shoot, choose with ones they want and wether or not the want extensive retouching, very basic or none) or perhaps we let them have all the images via FTP (small size) and give them hi res retouched files additionally for an extra fee.

    It's looking good though!

  2. Hi Kat

    I think this is a really good start. I have looked again at the brief and what we have to produce is a "business rationale" - I think this means a note setting out why we are going into business, what we will do and how we will do it. What you have done so far gives us a really good starting point - everything you have included is valid - I just think the slant needs changing so its not written as addressed to the customer and there is some additional stuff you can cover whish I have listed below.

    In a business rationale we should include stuff such as:
    - Name and description of the business
    - An overview of the business & the services offered (this is a lot of what you have put in the draft already)
    - The team/key staff and their skills
    - Description of products and services
    - Market research
    - Sales and marketing activities
    - Business goals
    If you add in some stuff on the additional areas it should soon reach 600 words.
